~2700-2750 lbs without the driver. Soft top delete, no spare tire and Recaro SPG Passenger/Driver seats. I'm the current owner of the car.
Weight won't matter that much if you don't have the seat time on the track. As many have said before, dialed in shocks, proper alignment, square wheel and tire setup (at least 200tw) are pretty much the quick buy-able stuff you can do to make it easier. More important than any of that is SEAT TIME. How long have you been trying to break sub 2 and what is your set up now? Throwing money at mods might not be your answer.
If you haven't been going out, just get out there and drive. Maybe get out to S2K Challenge and find somebody to help you learn quicker.

Personally I've had plenty of seat time but had obstacles to overcome mentally (I experienced a spinout exiting Riverside at about 96mph). I was stuck at a 2:05 for a while until I had a breakthrough last year and was able to get it down to 2:03. So I'm chopping it down and confidence is high. I'll be going again next Friday to try again so wish me luck!

Seat time for sure. Im at 2800 pounds with driver 240whp. PB of 1:53;5xx on medium 245/40/17 z214s.
@Dess..you know Im going to post it hahaha lol
I have the same mods as most people (wing, splitter, suspension, rims, and tires). Nothing special. The best way to get faster is sit with someone or follow someone.
