I already got the braile B106 with the following specs:

6.6lbs/3.2kg
527 Pulse Cranking Amps*

i know i should have done my research before getting it. However, can this battery be used on the S2000, putting in mind that my car is supercharged. what could happen if i use it?

I intend to use it for track days, (i wont use the A/C with this battery).

i have the 11lb braille, and it will only last 3 days between charges. also, if you keep cranking (if for some reason the car doesn't start), it doesn't have enough juice to last too long. also, when the alternator was not working well, not totally dead but not good either, lights and the cluster were flickering.

i'd only use the 6lb if you only connect it at the track, and carry a jumper with you. it might cause your alternator to overwork though. wonder if that's what killed my own alternator in the first place, since it only has 60k miles.

^^^ thank you, i get your point, that whats i was concerned about. i currently have the 15lb braille and its running well. I'd bring the jump starter an use it only at the track, but if the alternator can be killed in the process.. i wont use it and just keep the current one for the track & street duty.

The B106 will work just fine for the track. Just make sure its disconnected from the terminal and charge it between events/races

The battery affecting the alternator makes no sense at all. If the battery is small and it takes too long to crank it will affect the starter. This small battery can crank a V6 so it’s good for our cars but again don’t let it sit.

If cost is no option, these guys are developing car sized Li-Fe batteries. They're sure enough not cheap, but idle discharge is on the order of 10% per year, and they feel like they're full of helium, lol. I have a prototype 20 cell sitting in my shop right now. If you guys are interested, I'll get some installed pics as soon as I can get an hour to kludge a temporary tie down together.

well, that's just what i read from other threads.

i would figure normally the alternator produces more power than can be stored by the battery. so, if that is the case, more efficiently it can be turned off when there is enough power stored in the battery to power the car. or perhaps the battery acts as a buffer, for periods where more power is needed by the car. or maybe you're right--it doesn't make a difference.

I'll provide my feedback when i use the battery on the track.

They have the 1.5 pound battery too :D
