Origin Fab Offset Bushing users, a question for you .....
Did you torque the upper a-arm bolts to the OEM spec?
I know these bushing work very differently than OEM bushings. OEM bushings rely on the rubber for their movement. The Origins need to be able to fully rotate and I don't think that can happen when torqued to OEM spec. What has been the experience of the users of Origin Fab offset delrin bushings? Did you just send it? Did you back off and use locktite on the bolts? Did you not have any issues? Am I over-thinking it? |
For starters I never torque those bolts down....I'm sure I've always gone past OEM spec. I've had these on my car for the last year or so without any issues. It's still really tight. No issues so far.

I have set for sale if interested. These are great if you plan on running oem fenders as they give more wheel clearance and additional camber. Used for 6 months and work great, selling since I've decided to go with df fenders. Pm me if interested.

You are over-thinking it.

If you go to OEM they won't move freely in my experience.

This thread reminded me to adjust the passenger side on my car. I was doing my wheel bearings and reassembled the pass side first and tightened it back up like normal with my calibrated arm. Went to do the drivers side and checked the swing and realized I needed to leave it way looser for freedom of movement. I just checked with my torque wrench and it looks like mine is happy at 21 ft lbs. I use torque mark on many important pieces of hardware these included so a quick visual inspection let’s me know nothing has loosened. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...5de3d5d4f.jpeg |
^^^^^ THANKS!!!
I see you used the set screws too. |

80 ft lbs seems to be a lot, and 21 seems like it might be risking backing out. I wonder if its worth putting a nut on the open side as a precaution. I may do so.
