Question about S2K in track environment
I talked to a friend who tracks his S2000. I asked him if he trailbrakes into
a couple of the turns that I usually do and he said he wouldn't even dare try
to trailbrake in those turns.
Coming from an '03 M3 Coupe with SMG, trailbraking is very natural, easy,
and predictable. It is the only way to get an M3 to effectively rotate given its
weight and stock suspension.
Do you trailbrake at the track?
If yes, is it predictable? Easy or hard to control? There must be a reason
why my friend said he wouldn't even DARE try it...

I have a very stock S2000 and trailbrake a lot. It is a very effective way to brake later and also help the rear to rotate in tight turns. There is always a time and a place for everything. Obviously, you don't want to trailbrake in high speed or off-camber turns where the rear is already loose.
Of course you can trailbrake an S2000. It's not necessary as much as with an M3, because it pushes less than an M3. But an S will still push somewhat, and trailbraking works as a cure.

Now, do you find that when you trailbrake you have to keep a VERY close
eye or attention on the rear end of the car to make sure you catch it before
it slips out?
I added massive front camber to my M3 (which I no longer have, sold it) and
had a track alignment. It made the car very twitchy, which I really like. Even
in a forgiving car such as the M3, in hard corners the rear would step out a
little and I just love catching it. I wonder if the S will be too much for me to
catch or if it's still VERY driveable and VERY FUN?
