Racing wheel lug nuts

Hey guys,

Hopefully you can help me out. I have a set of iforged aero 3 piece aluminum wheels and have recently upgraded to a ford super 8.8 rear end with 1k whp DSS axles. This has changed the hubs to larger splines and also uses arp extended wheel studs for racing. My issue is i have no clue what open ended lug nuts to go with. They do need to be tapered end for these rims i believe and i want a good set of strong lug nuts, yet still look stylish and in black. Anyone know the best/strongest brand out there? Also, should I be using steel or aluminum lug nuts on the aluminum wheels?

Here is a picture of the stud/nut area on the wheel. It almost looks as though tapered or straight through lugs could be used. Can anyone confirm?

i use bwr (black works racing) steel open ended extended lugs. worked fine for me the past 3 years. dont get anything aluminum for track stuff. they come in all the colors, black, red, blue, neochrome, etc and are cheap enough to use as a consumable and not feel bad about it

Use Mcguard steel lugs on my Civic expensive but great quality

Ive been using 949 Racing lug nuts for the past 3 months and no problems so far. These are definitely light and from what I've heard, they are pretty strong. But don't quote me on that last part.

Using 949 racing nuts here as well, no problems yet.
If you want steel instead I would go for these LUG NUTS — MSI Racing Products

aluminum is fine, don't over torque them.

+3 for 949 lugs. Work great and impact friendly.

I've used 949 extended open aluminum lugs with my impact tools on ARP extended studs. They are about 5 years old. I may replace them soon as preventive maintenance but I haven't had any issues yet.

MSI Racing Products. Been using them for years on all our race cars. Currently with ARP studs, but will be switching to MSI studs too.
