Yes, R1 is in a different league than RA1 but I've only run RA1s for years so it's my basis for comparison. One point I didn't mention is that the RA1s were 255 on a 9.5" wheel and the R1s are 225 on a 8" wheel. So far it seems that the R1s are generating equal or better lateral grip from a 30mm narrower tire. Braking is definitely a step up.

The tire and wheel size difference explains a lot and really puts things in perspective. It was a bit confusing without that info.

Spencer didn't qualify and won! Very impressive to slot through 40 slower cars and 10 faster cars to win! He was racing his Cup-type Porsche also that weekend.

In the end his fastest lap was only 1s/lap faster than mine but it took me a little while to find my groove and then I was held up by the 2 Nissans.
