I can't say I'm thrilled with the life of my R16 fronts at this point. After 3 Track days they are are roughly 50%. I switch back to the Gloc street pads before I leave the track and I still have some pad smear as well. Not sure I'll be buying another set.

Yes and yes. It is really difficult to get Gloc or Carbotech to bed rotors that have used other pads. This is why I won't use them, I have a BBK and Urge rears, I can't swap rotors. Cobalt on the other hand bed over about anything.

I also have a Stoptech and Urge rears, and the only pads that have ever touched them are Glock R12's in the back which I leave even for street driving, and then the R16 fronts for track use and the 6 or whatever the street pad is. I'm still getting smearing on the front.

I would never turn/refsurface a track application rotor. Either keep the same pads or use a pad combo to clean them. But either way, if its not shaking and braking is fine... I dont see a big problem here.

I have the same thing with my r-16 compound. It's normal. At least I think it is. Did u have the pads pre bed by Danny?

either ur car is heavy or u don't have any ducting at all. I assume ur on the st-40 kit? Iv abused my r16 pads for 3 track days of temps over 115. They r still 80% ish.

Are Hawk HP Plus pads available for your caliper/rotor? It's a long shot, but maybe.

ducts hadn't been installed yet, but I'm only running ~2 seconds faster than when I was on stock sized brakes with winmax W4 and they lasted 4 track days and 5000 street miles without ducting and they still have more pad left than the R16's do. Car is 2680# wet.

Also wanted to stick with the max streetable compound in the rears to avoid changing them all the time with stock calipers being a pain but the R16F/R12R bias is not good for me, it's very front heavy. I definitely need more rear pad. I wish someone made a bias adjuster for our cars.

I'm on the same pad setup as u but I have no complaints but I guess my car is 2300lbs too that's y. I never overheat, glaze my brakes. Whenever I slam on them after a straight, they r always there with the best bite.
