Yes, 255 is too wide for a 7" wide wheel.
SCCA Stock class you cannot change the wheel width, correct?

Correct if by "Stock" you mean "Street".

Yes, thanks, I read the rules for street class.
I was confused because I read in this thread that a square setup with 255 all around was ideal. I did not know why that would be posted if you cannot fit 255 on stock width rim up front and you cannot change the wheel width per SCCA street class. I thought this was a Street/Stock class thread, I am new to autox and these rules, thanks for the clarification.

So I should plan on 245/40 front and 255/40 rear tires to run on stock sized wheels in B-Street class, correct?

As already stated multiple times in this very thread....

Yes

245 front, 255 rear.
245 on the front 7" wheels leaves a very pinched looking tire but seems to be the preferred setup.
The 255 on the rear 8.5" looks just fine.

I know about the widths. I am trying to clarify the sidewall size for both front and rear.
also I am trying to clarify why it was stated previously that 255 all around would work, why state that if the wheel width cannot be changed in this class, was there a recent change to the rules?
I am not concerned about looks of the tire on the rim, just performance and safety.
thanks

255 square on 17x9" wheels is the default STR(Street Touring Roadster) setup, and is also a popular track setup.

If people are referencing that setup in this thread titled "S2000 Stock class autocross information" then they need to stay quiet and stop cluttering the thread.

Rules changed ~4 years ago where Hoosiers/Race rubber was not allowed in Stock class, but the ability to go up or down a size in wheel size(not width!) was added.

So with a stock AP2 17" wheel will a 245/40R17 fit in the front without any modification to the fender etc.? I am assuming stock suspension.

I was looking on tire rack and found these wheels that look like they would be legal in B-Street class for the AP2:

OZ Racing Alleggerita HLT
Front 17"x7" 49mm offset
Rear 17"x8.5" 59mm offset

https://www.tirerack.com/wheels/WheelCloseUpServlet?target=runWheelSearch&wheelMak e=O.Z.&wheelModel=Alleggerita+HLT&wheelFinish=Anth racite+Painted&autoMake=Honda&autoModel=S2000&auto Year=2007&autoModClar=

Would these wheels be ok for B-Street class?

Yeah, those are legal in B Street for the AP2 S2000. I run those currently on my car, with 245/40/17 in the front and 255/40/17 in the rear.
