S2000 track times database

My goal is to create an S2000 lap times database that will be easily searchable and show top times, mods, etc for each track. I found the current sticky post we have to be difficult to search and I think it can be done better if we create an actual database. The benefit of this will be that tracks can easily be filtered to show times for various setups in various conditions. It can also help drivers figure out what mods work and common setups. There is a ton of info out there about various mods, lap times, etc but I think having them in a centralized database will help everyone.

Please use the link below to fill in your lap time information:
https://goo.gl/forms/2XXrMINFA9PRp0H82

Use the following link to view the raw database:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...it?usp=sharing

I will be filter through the database periodically and create a top times report for each track and filter and correct entries to make them easy to search. If you have any recommendations on improvements, let me know! I think once we have a fair amount of data this will be a very valuable tool for the community.

Once you submit an entry make a post with your name, track, and time so I can contact you if there is any information I need clarification on.

Sickdayracing 09-07-2018 10:50 AM

Updated 3/4/19. Post reserved for top times by track.

I will continue to fill in top times are more data is received. When enough data is received, this will be the top 5 lap times for each track.

Love this idea mate. Pretty much uploaded all the laptimes I got this year from Gridlife and GTA. If clarifications needed, let me know.

Great idea!

You may want to add a field for the date of the event and maybe track surface temp or as a proxy time of day, weather conditions (sunny, cloudy), and ambient air temp which you are already capturing.

The timestamp field is when added rather than when the lap was run.

Good point on date of event. I added the field.

The key to this is going to participation from the community. A few people have entered data and I highly encourage as many people to enter as possible.

Thanks to everyone who has contributed data so far. Please continue to add times. I posted the leaderboard for top times for each track. One of the benefits of the database will be that drivers can go into the spreadsheet and see the top times and further investigate setups as well as watch the lap video. A by-product of the database is that we are creating a video repository for fast S2000 laps for tracks around the world in one central location.

I encourage everyone to continue to add times regardless of how fast they are. The ultimate goal is to have as much data as possible from all types of setups.

andrewhake was trying to do the same a few years back. Link to what he put together.

tracks from opposite sides of the country... It's out dated and old. Lots of new fast time being posted up. It would also make sense to state what "class" the car was build to if part of any formal competitions (even if local, aka - S2kC, etc.)

Nice! I have a class section in mine.

Bruunz 09-09-2018 04:57 PM

In regards to the class, it's very US specific. I just put in HPDE but have no idea what that means for me as someone from Australia.

Is this aimed for people outside of the US or more internal?
