A few shots with the point-and-shoot of the SSE Evo this weekend. Putting their Formula Atlantic knowledge to good use. I've seen the car a few times but never up close. Amazing. I was also very impressed with Ryan Novak's new setup. Looks like he's coming close to harnessing with 295s all around.

Fock.... that's some DTM style bodywork! Yeah, amazing to see what a real racing program brings to the game!

They ran their 1:43.2 during practice in the morning and then did a 1:44.3 during their time attack session #2. Wicked fast car. I will say though, you can't compare it to the HKS time. HKS came to BW never having driven the track before. Laid down the 1:43 within a few laps and packed their bags. Lets not forget that HKS was not using slicks either...

I think one of the things that makes a lot of the Japanese time attack cars so potent and unbeatable is they are so well balanced. I feel like all big name American time attack cars are putting down far more power and still not finding a way to go faster. I'm sure in time someone will go faster but maybe our cars aren't quite as balanced? The HKS evo as well as the Cusco/Tomei sti don't run much more than 400whp. That's still a lot but a lot of the AWD American time attack cars are running between 500-600whp.

I would counter with the fact that SSE has only been playing with street cars for ONE year now. How long has HKS been tuning street cars? Street cars are a whole different animal than Formula cars which is where SSE came from.

Also, SSE has been using different drivers, and the last time they were at Buttonwillow, it was the driver's first time there.
