I am leaning towards this. Hard part now its to wrap my head around how to make the front edge adjustable. The last version of this thing had a supermiata style bumper hack w/ hdpe plastic air damn that went all the way down to the plywood. (entirely an 11th hour job)

I mounted my air dam to the splitter itself, not the bumper. So the splitter can be adjusted up or down and the dam just slides up or down the bumper. The downside is I can't adjust extension without removing the dam (and I riveted it in place so that would be a big pain).

I'm now thinking of maybe pushing my splitter down an inch or so and then using the front turnbuckles to bend the front edge up for street driving, then releasing it for track. I'm using alumalite, so there's a bit of flexibility in the material. Or I might just leave it low and use metal cord instead of solid turnbuckles so it can bend up when it impacts the road.

Went out to RA a couple weekends ago with the splitter at 3" and it does scrape at a few places even with just nexens on the car. 10a under braking, and after landing @ t3. As it sits, it caused no ill effects but I suspect stickier tires might change that.

I suspended it with 3/32 wire rope and crimped ferrules. This definitely keeps the setup flexible enough to take impacts without transmitting the force to the suspension but I've noticed the air dam is much more flexible now too.... It manged to self clearance a huge slice out of itself.

My next project is working on a splitter design for a friend. We're trying to figure out the best shape and protrusion that still complies with NASA TT rules.
