ap1 are spot welded, i thought ap2 were just seam welded i dont think ap2 have anything like the spoon plate thing on them

I should have known I wouldn't get a straight answer on this . So am I welding them or not?! If there is the possibility of damage that could make it more difficult/costly after failure then maybe it isn't a bad idea to do them as a preventive, but is this the case?

i wouldnt bother to have them welded unless you develop a problem, just keep an eye on them, if they tear then have it fixed

Just get them welded. Might cost you $100, but knowing it won't tear out is worth far more.

It's like a HNRS, the chances of you actually ever needing one is pretty low -- but when you do need one, you're going to wish you had.

Preventative maintenance is cheaper than repair. You have access to a mobile welder- that makes the answer even easier. Is it needed, probably not. Will you be more at ease once it is done, yes

to clarify I will always have access to the welder, it is just coordinating our schedules to find time. I want my car back together!!
