Swapping rotors
Hey guys -
I did my first track day this past weekend and now i'm hooked. My brake setup is as follows: Project U NS pads front and rear, oem rotos (turned to make perfect), stainless lines, and dot 4 fluid. My brakes got fairly hot and looks like my rotors are glazed (Very shiny with a few hot spots).
My question is this..
When swapping rotors and using the same pads, do you bed them the same way as if they were new? Can you overheat the pads to the point they are no good anymore? Am I overthinking the whole thing and my brakes should be fine?
Thanks in advance!

From my experiences I just bed in the brake beds the same way as they manufacturer says in the instructions, as long as my previous rotors are not terribly damaged with deep cuts etc. At that point I assume you would try to grind down the pad to make it smooth and not uneven surface due to uneven rotor damage.
Best info you can find about bed-in here: http://www.essexparts.com/learning-c...ds/post/Bed-in
You aren't really "bedding-in" brake pads, you are creating a transfer layer between the rotors and pads, so yes you want to go through the same cycle. I would consider moving to higher temp pads after spending a bit more time at the track as well, the NS has a pretty low operating temperature. I would consider the HC+800 pad or Club Racer from Project µ for relatively inexpensive options.

Sounds like you overheated the pads, and maybe melted a bit onto the rotors.
I would step straight up to the Club Racers, and hold onto the NS for street driving. I have a few sets of Club Racers that I'm selling... need to empty out the garage since I parted my car out.

haha welcome to the world of high performance driving!
it only gets more expensive as you get faster
(here are last years pads and rotors i went through)
started with some used AX6 f/r, then moved to xp10/x8 pads
now a front set only last 2 events (4 days) i am hoping brake ducts will help cut this down
