sway bars?
just wondering which would be the best sway bar setup for MY06. im planning on purchasing sway bars for my first mod, and if it would be best to get just the front sways or front and rear? if i get the front and rear what would be the best setup? if just the front what setup would be best? any suggestions please!

There is no simple answer to your question. What are you planning to use the car for? What handling characteristic are you trying to fix or improve?

drive it stock for a while 1st.

Great advice if you don't know what you're trying to fix. |
we'd assume to '06 is more docile than previous ones. So why mess it up until you do a few events?
the S has an ok camber curve, so body roll alone doesn't hurt that much. |
I have actually taken my car to autocross event after break in. The one thing that I noticed was, the car had a tendency to "duh" slide rear first and then front when pushed to limit(VSA off). I was trying to see where the car breaks loose and if its possible to make the rear-end not break to easily. that is what im hoping to get out of the sway bars. more practice or any suggestions?

You're still too new in the car to be handicapping your car control skills with mods. Yes, a stiffer front swaybar will make your car less tail happy, but then you'll never learn what driving an S2000 is about. As long as you've got stock tire stagger, you don't need a swaybar to balance the car.

There's an autocross FAQ stickied to the top of the Racing & Comp forum that you can reference if you like. Not all the guidance is pertinent to your model year. |
