TCD Baffled oil pan owners please read
We have had failure #2 with the oil pan. At this point we insist all owners to pull the pan and remove the baffle. We have several stock pans instock and can trade them out with people so that their car does not have any down time. We have looked at the materials involved and the welding process several times and it is still not solving the problem. We will credit owners of the pan $200, and take care of the removal of the baffle in house. If you have any questions please contact me directly at 408-956-1526 or via email tony@tcdesignfab.com. DO NOT PM me, please use the two ways to contact me as listed. At this point we recomend installing an accusump system to fight oil starvation issues.

To clarify, the pans may be causing a failure, or just failing to prevent one?

This was documented in a thread here a while back. |
Mike is correct on what is happening. It is a fatigue failure, most likely due to a harmonic vibration that is happening in the motors. We also build BMW and other baffle kits and have never seen this failure. It is not worth our time and money to spend anymore time R&Ding this product, so we are going to drop this product.
