Is Time Attack Racing?
By Christopher Hurst This op-ed piece is about something that bothers me as a racer. You might ask why it matters and hopefully, this article will clarify that. I remember following drifting in 2005 when you had to go to Little Tokyo in Los Angeles to the back section of a store and buy the videos on VHS. There weren’t even subtitles. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...01dd017b2b.jpg |
No and that picture is a Formula Drift car which is also not racing or a race car.

Is it time for the old pyramid of speed?

Personally I think any timed event is racing. I don’t do auto-x or TT, just wheel-to- wheel is what I like. If you only consider wheel -to-wheel racing then there is very little racing in F1. It’s more like an enduro TT |
Irish Road Racing is the only racing. Where men are true men.

Moonshiners outrunning the revenuers is real racing.....

I've been doing time trial events with COMSCC (club formerly known as "Corvettes of Massachusetts") since 1999. I don't think many in the club consider running time trials to be "racing". Because it's not. Personally I would prefer to race, but I don't want to have to deal with all the bodywork and other repairs required from not-infrequent impacts in SCCA. So I went vintage motorcycle racing instead :D
