Default Tips on mounting seat belt buckle to rails...

Does anyone have a better way to mount the seat belt buckle? These are Nagisa rails. I'm not sure if the way I have it mounted now is safe. Using the buckle mount on the seat makes the buckle & belt go over my stomach instead of the lap. Stock buckle will not work; it will not go through the hole in the seat. I currently have the buckle mounted on the rail itself, but it is not passing through the hole in the seat. Any tips or ideas?

You mount the oem buckle to the hole in the 2nd/3rd photo. It's not suppose to go into the harness slot.

Yeah, I had it there originally, but moved it because it made the belt go across my stomach instead, so I was just messing around with different locations. It would work well if the seat belt extension was shorter.

My friend has a similar belt to what you have now and he slid that into the harness hole. Problem is the connecting the point between the male end and female end becomes somewhat close to the stomach also.

use the supplied mount point for the oem seat belt receptacle then get a seat belt extender so you can route the extension through the belt slot oval and inside the bolster.

on the shoulder/lap belt buckle side you also want to route the belt through the left side belt slot oval such and secure to the OEM frame location.

when completed, you should be able to buckle and unbuckle your seatbelt as fast as the original seat. this is critical for safety in the event you need to evacuate your car. the seat belt will now also be able to restrain your lap and torso properly in the event of an accident.

I got my seatbelt extender from here:

When the OEM buckle is bolted to the rail, it ends up too tall to go through the hole on the seat.

That's what the seatbelt extender is for

In any event, don't drive that thing with how it's set up now. The loop will fold up easily when loaded, lengthening the belt and depositing you in the footwell.
