The new R888R's will be featured in the next Ken Block Gymkhana vid on Pikes Peak with his new now 1400hp twin turbo meth guzzling hoonicorn.

I don't know about their traction and handling but it looks like they smoke pretty good.

I ran R888's last year and wasn't happy with them and after 3 track days I couldn't use them after 10mins on track. The quote below is from the link Kenny_Stang posted and I agree so I'd like to hear more on them. I saw that they were making them last year and if I had some $$ to burn id give them a shot for 20 mins haha

"A lot depends on what car they're being used on but for me they have better all round grip than R888's but don't get up to temp quite as quick. Upside is they don't overheat so quickly and fall off a cliff like the R888's did but you can still feel grip levels decreasing after 8 to 10 mins hard driving"

R888 and NT01 are both TW100.

My buddy with a Factory Five Cobra tried them and didn't like the R888's. He said the grip wasn't great while they were cold, got only marginally better when warmed up, and went away quickly when they got hot. That was for autocross use. I don't know anyone who has used them for track days. I think they were the spec tire for some series for one year, but they bailed on them after that. I don't know anyone who's used the 888R's.

Funny enough directly from their site:

"HIGH GRIP RACE COMPOUND

Reaches optimal operating temperature quickly and provides consistent performance.
Improves grip for excellent cornering performance."

It seemed the S2000 was a little too heavy to work well with the original R888s. I used a set as rain tires and they worked really well but I never ran them in the dry.
