I initially took mine out when installing the Urge rotors. However, I noticed at my last track day that everytime I would reverse into my paddock spot and touch the brakes, my pads would knock from moving inside the pad holder and hitting the other end of the brake bracket. I've since clearance these retainer clips for the rotors and reinstalled them.

Also, you do run about 1mm (or however thick that clip is) more inboard if you remove that retainer clip. Not that it matters.

Where do you order custom depth carbotech pads from? Thanks.

Call the manufacturers directly for custom thicknesses. Carbotech, Cobalt, Raybestos, and G-Loc all have made rear pads for me now.
