Track newbie
Thanks man! Yeah sadly I've never raced on the actual track despite living so close (I live in lancaster) but I have been to a couple of speed venture hosted events but just to watch some buddies of mine. They are well organized and I definitely am going to have my first track day hosted by them. I was thinking of going this sat to their big willow event but just to watch since my car won't be ready. For sure I need brakes/rotors, tires, and a fluid change and probably an alignment. But other than that I'm excited to be out there and hopefully improve my driving skills.
225 on a 9.5" wheel sounds a little too stretched to me.
I would say run a 245/255 staggered setup, but you would need to pull the fenders or run wider fenders. Also then you get into the issue of benefiting from more negative camber, which requires camber joints. Then you might also want to get a stiffer front sway bar to prevent oversteer.
I started a few years back on Hawk HP+, stainless lines, ATE super blue fluid, and SOS rotors (although centric blanks should be fine) I also had 225/255 tire setup on stock wheels, with average Sumitomo tires. It was plenty adequate for my skill level. The good thing about average summer tires is a) they are cheap b) they provide good feedback.
Have fun out there!

Yeah I was actually considering trading my front rpf1 (x9.5) for some x9 +45... So it wouldn't be too much of a stretch. But if I don't have too and my fronts are fine now I'll just stick with them.
I wanted to know your opinion on having a staggered offset with a squared tire set up for the track. Reason I'm asking is I have stock front fenders with asm overfenders and I was thinking of doing 17x9 +45F and +22R with a 255/40 tire. Would offsets make a difference in handling as is I were to do a full +45 all around? Thanks...
Just get out there!
Sorry to be repetitive, but this just doesn't really matter for your first few track days. By the time you get fast enough to be able to tell the difference, it'll be time for another set of tires anyway.
PS. I would not recommend a square tire setup for a beginner.
