Here's a 1'51.6 lap for you. Nitto NT01 255/40-17, N/A

Fast, but that's on r-comps and what looks like a race car (gutted?) so I'm guessing full aero too. I want to get to the point where I'm running times close to that on RS3's, no aero, and in a street car. I know someone who's already doing it.
I suspect rs3s have more grip over a single lap than nt01s since the rs3 is so much newer. Difference is that nittos can do those times for multiple laps in a row.

it is gutted but the only aero is the CR kit. But yeah, my theoretical best was 1 sec quicker.

Ah nice. I'm assuming the CR kit doesn't actually produce much downforce? Mainly for stabilization?

As far as tires go, I don't know about that. Based on my experience I'd rate Hankook TD (Soft) > NT01 > RS3/AD08R in terms of grip.

About the CR bits - yes - they only help to reduce some of the lift generated at speed. Even that little bit is noticeable especially in t10.

Video of me and a couple of the other instructors having some fun on the 1.7CW at Motorsport Ranch in Cresson, TX. We have a really good group of S2000s (about 5) all similarly prepped on street tires. It always makes for a fun time.

Here's the details on my car:
MY2000
Intake, exhaust, TP
Fortune Auto 510 (14kg/12kg)
Custom 1.5" speedway front bar, MX-5 rear bar
255/40/17 Kumho XS on TR Motorsports 17x9
Full interior, roll bar, no aero

1:45 at Laguna Seca with Speed SF this past weekend. 1:42-3 is definitely possible with more practice. Who needs aero.

And here's a more entertaining session since there was a lot of traffic to get past. I also almost lose the car at the beginning of the video going slightly too hot into turn 2 and slipping around on a dirty/slick surface.

Radiantm3, you are really moving out of corners and down the straights. What engine mods do you have and which tires are you on?

Thanks, looks like a fun weekend

Running 255/40/17 RS3's and right now I have a Mugen intake, J's header, berk test pipe, stock exhaust, and flash pro with the generic tune. I plan to get it tuned at blacktrax once I get my exhaust.

2" faster this time, but I 'm still looking for some grip! Again, I had a very good time at the track and start loving the car. Hopefully, next time I 'll get some propper wheels and rubber.

Enjoy!

Wow! Nice car and driving mate!
How do you make that upper left corner faded video box?

I used a blend mode to make the video transparent, but still vibrant. Then I added a gradient mask to the right and bottom of the clip. It's all pretty simple to do in Final Cut Pro.

I get it! I am using iMovie and there 's not a way to do such thing, even though it's pretty easy and popular. Keep up!
