2:30-39 is a really good time range for the S2000, especially for your first time on track! Having been a instructor there I pretended like I was in passenger seat and have these notes:

1. Entering in S's, turn 2 & 3, touching first curb I would avoid
2. Turns 8,9,10 are always hard to nail and you got close, but you know it's fire when your flat out through 9 & 10
3. I really judge people on 16, 17, 18 (Carousel) and honestly you did it masterfully

For a first go I rate you 9 out of 10. Keep on keeping on!
thanks for the tips!

so it was far from my first time on track, just my first time at COTA just in case it wasn’t clear. But yeah it was a 2 day event. I had an instructor the first day and solo the second which I think is perfect for the first time on a new track. There were a couple laps where I got T1, the esses, T8 9 10, and/or the carousel a few tenths faster (and showed a predictive in the 2:34’s) but got held up by traffic towards the end of the lap. If I had a clear track I could have been in the 2:34’s on a few laps, if it hadn’t been so damn hot maybe even 2:33’s.

Here is the full video from my trip to COTA. You can see the improvement over the course of the weekend.

Finally made it to Ozarks International Raceway. Plenty of years tracking this car and not afraid to admit this is the first track that was intimidating like this. Still a good ways off pace of where I should be at the end of day 1 when this video was taken! First time on hoosiers in the s2000 and first time at the track. A huge number of the corners are after cresting hills and turn into off camber quickly, so many opportunities to end up in walls at this one. So if visiting here, put your ego aside and take your time learning it or it will bite you! Still an extremely fun track but it will take another weekend before I feel confident to just send it.

Day 2 I was hoping for more, but I had a running issue that kept popping up so called it quits after 2 sessions. I think it is a harness issue or injector issue but will have to dig in and see.

Note a very selective word in part of this video when I quickly caught the guys in front of me and had to give up time on my fastest lap that day lol. Also note, I have a crack in my windshield (from debris at a previous event) and could not get it repaired in time .. sorry for that being in view but it was close to where I had the cam mount glued and it was growing each lap and was in full view here.

It's been 5 years since I had this car on track, but I did get it out to Hallett a few days ago and it made miss going to the track. I've done so much AutoX in the last two years that I didn't try to get out to the track until I was invited to a private day at the end of the season. Next year, I want to do as many track days as AutoX. I also need to do some work on keeping my temps down. I started triggering my 220F safety, which ws irritating.

This my first time at Hallett, though it did about 30 laps on my sim on Hallett prior to going out so I wasn't trying to get the flow down all day. I was on A052's with 65+ AutoX runs on them. I did put two off at the end of my fisrt session as they were getting a bit greasy.

I also chased a buddy for fun. I recently tuned the Miata and the Mustang dyno I used said 190whp (base was 110whp), but I'm guessing it's more like 250+ on a Dynojet. I didn't keep track of times all day, but he ended up running a 1:28.xx He was slowing me down a bit. I also nervous to get up on him in braking zones because the lack of ABS and how unstable it looked... And I thought he was going off when the smoke started pouring.
