Default Want to run 255/40 on 8" wheel?

Currently running a 225/255 front/rear setup with an 8" wheel up front and 9" in the rear. I want to try the new NT05 tires but they only come in 255/40. Can I run a 255" up front on an 8" wheel? minimum recommended is 8.5" but will that make a difference?

thanks

Yep. I am running NTO5's. 235/255 on a 7.5" wheel up front and 8.5" rear. That being said, I am pretty sure you could get a 255 series tire on the 8" wide wheel. I wouldn't sweat it.

I don't think anyone is saying its dangerous, it just isn't optimal

I'm running nt05 235/255 on 8.5/9.5

BUT, my friend in a 2.5rs is running nt05's 255 on 8" X4
It'll bulge and look very chunky, but playing around with the psi will make this setup optimal.

Did you want go to 255 x4? It might feel funny with a significant amount of bulge on the front vs. the rear. Try get the 235's if you can, they do 235/40 17.

I was shooting for a 255 all around, but seems like my wheel sizes aren't optimal. The next step up in tire sizes using the recommended wheel width specs would be 245 front & 275 rear. I may go for this larger setup but am afraid i'll get too much understeer especially with a rear wing.
