I buggered two ARP studs on my miata. Put MSI on the s2000. Far better quality. Will never turn back to ARP again.

I wrote a review of MSI studs a few years ago, and I'm still very happy with them. There are a lot of technical details in the review if you're interested in the technical stuff.

I was at a NASA event three weeks ago in which a racer had to replace an ARP stud in the field. He ground some material off the hub, flattened the flange on one side of the stud, and cut the stud to OEM length. We believe it would work with longer studs if you grind the hub more, but it would have been too much trouble while on the car.

I have theoretical concerns about using the hub too many times. The stud requires an interference fit so the splines bite into the flange. Eventually, you will make the holes in the hub too big. Pragmatically, I've never heard of anyone breaking an MSI stud, so the likelihood of replacing them multiple times before the bearing goes out is very low.

The next time I take my knuckle apart, I'll make this modification.

Ran MSIs on my e36. Never had any issues.
