Default 04 AP2 vs. 03 WRX

My older brother has a 2003 WRX wagon. Its has a full Greddy exhaust with an AEM cold air intake. he has about 150,xxx miles on it but it runs almost perfectly.
i have a sebring silver 04 with 82,000 miles on it. My car is completely stock except for my Invidia q300 exhaust.
I have always wondered how our car would compete against each other and the chance finally came up. My brothers car has tons of torque so I knew it would keep up.
We were going down this 2 mile long road a few miles from our house that inclines all the way up. Its known to have cops in the area so we knew we couldn't race for too long.
We did it on a slight roll around 15mph.
3 honks and we were off. As i expected, out of first gear we were totally neck and neck. You could really feel the CDV come into action on every shift. Through second and third I started to pull away. Unfortunately, there was tons of oncoming traffic so we didn't want a cop see us racing so my brother let off around 75 and I did shortly after.
I wish that we could have really gotten to go at it. I was not surprised how well his subi kept up at first. If we could have gone to 100 or more I know my car would have pulled 2 car lengths on him. i was hoping my S would do a little better but hey maybe its because we were on a huge incline and his car is full of torque.

Torque has nothing to do with it. Power is what counts.

hmm.. seems like you should have been faster.

I raced a 2010 wrx in my ap1 when it had the stock motor in it (intake and aem ems were the only mods). we were pretty close to dead even, from like 25 to the end of 3rd he pulled maybe 1/2 a fender on me.

Sounds about right, assuming you mean downpipe + catback by "full exhaust". I think I ran about a 13.6 @ 98mph in my WRX with those mods (of course no CAI).

Your brother is running a CAI in a EJ205 WRX without a tune? Bad idea.

An ap2 will beat a stock wrx from a roll all day long! but you had a person in the car which is soooo bad in the s2000 since its already heavy as it is, i would race again drop the body off and you will pull pretty hard like 2 cars

that statement is a little too broad. the newer WRXs with the VF52 turbo and the 2.5L block will give an S2000 a very hard time. In fact, i would venture to say that they will beat an S2000 pretty consistantly. Add any mods + tune to the WRX, say goodbye..

Hey he bought the car with 30,000 miles. He has had it for 3 years and now has 150,xxx miles. It runs great and he claims to get 30 mpg's on the highway so it must not be too bad.
I never put my car in the redline. I take it to 8 and than i shift right away so i may be losing some speed because I am not maximizing rpms.
