its a total cop out to say the s2k is not a dragger. you think that DC5's/FG/EK/DA's are? their wrong wheel drive for god sake. FWD is the WORST layout for a dragster. thats why the cars the hold the world record for 1320's are RWD top fuel dragsters. and yes i both drag and raod race andf drag race my car.

yea i know, my bad, my last comment was a bit misleading. what i meant was cars you would encounter on the street/fwy and racing from a roll, which is basically what this thread is about. i know fwd is the worst platform for drag racing. plus, how many s2k owners do you see at the drag strip? the s2k is a very pricey car to mod, esp to go fast in a straight line. if you want a drag car i bet there are plenty of better options that are cheaper to mod and have more potential than an s2k. and yes i know dc5/fg/ek/da etc... are wrong wheel drive. reason why i said "there are more really fast fwd hondas than rwd hondas" is because they can be had for cheap, cheap to mod and some are light as ****. such as an eg, the power to weight ratio can be insane with a k series swap. encounter one of these on the street and most likely game over for you. but on a drag strip, possibly different story.
i didnt buy my car with the intent to go fast in a straight line or around corners. i wanted a nice fun daily driver that appealed to me (which is why i chose it over the fg) good on gas, practical, etc... but now im into road racing and sorta regret not spending the extra money to get a real sports car. i wouldnt call a dc5 a sports car by any means, sporty at best, but still a very capable car. i know an s2k is faster and more fun to drive around a track but i think fwd is a better platform to learn on. besides, s2ks are notorious for oversteer and spinning out with inexperienced drivers, esp ap1s.
i also take back what i previously said about having no respect for s2k owners who drag race their car, i know i have no say in what an owner of a car should do with his/her own car. if your into drag racing and happen to love the s2000, by all means more power to you. just that i think there are better options for a faster/cheaper drag car.
what i really meant to say was i have no respect for s2k owners that go to illegal street races to race. i mean street encounters are a different story but when you go out to illegal street races and think your the shit because you have a "superior vtak" machine than other "wrong wheel drive hondas" your just lame, your especially lame if you call your s2k a "honda 2000"
my 2 cents
Si's are nice little compact cars. We mostly see young teens driving them around here. They do look a lot nicer than the 99-00 Si's.
Are they fast in OEM trim? Not really. They are still slower IMO than the RSX Type S which isn't that fast either so that should shed some light as to how fast the Si's are. I ran a newer Si and it really couldnt keep up with my 350z or NSX. Pretty much 10+ cars back when I hit 155 mph. It wasnt a race from the get go but I guess this kid thought it was fast since it had an Si badge and Vtec.
I am not here to argue. I am just giving an honest opinion/observation.
The fastest Honda's are all RWD in OEM/stock fashion.

any car can be a dragger, for gods sake there are school busses and mini vans that run 10s and 11s. and i never said a dc5/fg/ek/da are better at drag racing.

but there are a few common misconceptions in your last reply. yes is CAN be expensive to mod the s2k, its just depends on how you do it. i am one of the most powerful AP1's on the west coast, and i've spent less than the cost of a "F-pro.' if you mod your s2k correctly then you can crank power out just like you K guys. hell the are more than a few guys making almost as much power as me with the stock exhuast on! if you follow the mindless name brand bandwagon then yes you could spend almost 2g's and only make 5whp more than me.
the general theory is that the s2k is "maxed out from the factory." its far from that, trust me.

I would think that all the weight over the tires, it would help in traction.
Also the top fuel dragsters have the advantage of a larger cc to play with
