Default 2003s vs infiniti g35

I was cruising home last night, (I rarely get a chance to play with cars, not lucky.). I saw a white g35 coupe merging on to the hwy. I thought cool maybe this will be fun. I was driving about 80 or so, it took a little while for him to catch up.. he followed me a mile or so until the road gets straight, I dropped into 4th, around 80, he pulled up next to me, looked over and off we went, pretty close until 5th upper end, I started to pull and in sixth about 135 i had about 1 1/2 car lengths. I slowed down and got off my exit, which was his as well, he honked at me, i honked and waved back, as did he. I always wanted to know how fast a z/ g35 was. now i know.

Nice run.

My buddy has a G35 coupe and we have fun little runs all the time. Never ran it with him at high speeds like that, but in lower speeds I take him pretty much all the time. There has been a few times when he gets a split second jump on me and we stay the same distance between eachother, with him not pulling at all. Right when I hit 5th is when I start to pull up on him, but then he lets off.

Don't think a Z is the same. A properly driven 350z will be right next to ya at 135, or 1 car in front. Did you have your top up?

Yes, there was achance of rain, why does that matter? I know it will be a little slower with it down. It was still fun.

At 80+ mph it matters a lot. To a point where another s2k can just leave ya.

lol it makes a HUGE difference at speeds above 70 or 80.

try it sometime. race 2 stock S2k's. one top down, one top up. race from 80-135 and the one with the top up will have several car lengths on the one with the top down.

at those speeds, other factors become second seat to the factor of drag/air resistance.

On the last S2000 drive I went on, I raced a bone stock S2000 on the highway. I wasnt supercharged then, but had intake/headers/exhaust. I had the top down, he had the top up. He walked me steadily around 80mph and up. I knew then what a difference it made.

Damn...I knew having the top down would make a diff on hwy runs...but I had no idea it would make that much of a difference
