2005 S2k vs 2008 civic si sedan
Not typical thread.
I'm the driver of the civic si. Buddy has the 05 AP2. I've been wanting to get a race with him since i got my accessport. civic si mods: skunk2 race header, skunk2 70mm exhaust, AEM CAI, 10lb flywheel (stock 14.5lbs) underdrive pulleys, accessport reflash stage 2 (mostly midrange powergains) S2000 mods: gutted airbox, Tanabe Concept G exhaust We went from 50 mph, both in 3rd gear. and.... we were dead even until i failshifted into 4th and he started pulling until around where he had to shift to 5th except i could keep revving out to 8600. So i pulled most of it back then we stopped. Just so you guys know what you're getting into if you have a pretty much stock s2k, this is what you can expect. I don't have a custom tune with the accessport yet. This is also why i wonder how the hell all you people talk about pulling buslengths on i/h/e kpro rsx's. Then again, i have a badass header, and those rsx's probably had a DCRH lol. |
that's why I'm going boost hahaha
good race though |
How much did all those parts cost for your si to keep up with the stock s2k?
(note trying to make a point here I am truly curious) |
Ill never forget when i lost to a mugen rsx's on the freeway, I couldn't sleep that night  I'm boosted now o well :D
|
i beat bolton civic si's and rsx's stock.. your friend must be a bad driver
|
^^ i'm a little past bolt-on considering i have a Cobb Accessport and lightweight flywheel as well.
Also, he's not a bad driver. That's a pretty stupid assumption. When you start in the same gear, floor it, and noone pulls, exactly how can it be so hard to floor the gas. Like i said, i don't even have a custom tune yet. THIS IS A BASE-MAP. For reference and comparison, i can walk g35's. I've raced a couple already and walked right past both in 3rd and pulled pretty good in 4th. Also one 350z so far as well. my car = not slow. I can guarantee they weren't 06+ though. But anyways, i don't get why you would even say that, because i didn't say i won. I didn't get it in 4th and he started pulling pretty good, but the extra 400 rpms in 4th let me rev out to 111 mph instead of 104 |

(note trying to make a point here I am truly curious) Skunk2 exhaust: 450 Cobb Accessport: 722 AEM CAI: 250 Lightweight flywheel/clutch: 500 Underdrive pulleys: 220 Total: 2802 dollars O_o sucks don't it The accessport has more potential in it though. As i said before, all i have on there is a basemap. The tune is free, due to the accessport being brand new a shop is custom tuning for free. BTW, the Tanabe concept G exhaust sounds awesome. |
I would love to run into a civic modded like yours. I have ran stock ones and it has been a blood bath. My girlfriend and I test drove one for her (a stock 09) and man stock it feels so sluggish. Sluggish or not i loved it lol, they are really nice.
|
stock ones are slow.
I run away from intake/exhaust civic si's like nothing. bloodbath as you put it. If they don't have at least full bolt-ons, i will walk 3+ car lengths real fast. Most of it came from the header i have on there. Look up the skunk2 06+ civic si header on their website. it's glorious. |
Damn man N/A is freaking expensive; at least your motor is more responsive than ours when it comes to N/A. Once I learn more about F/I; i'm going to be spending most of my resources on the dark side we love to call "boost".
