Nitrous runs!
Was on 35 coming back from Texas today and got to finally run some other cars on spray. Naturally after I got my 75 shot I hadn't found any races until today (probably 2-3mos)
First was an 06 350z, looked stock, exhaust was a little louder than I expected but was definitely stock.
-First run: Opened my fresh bottle for the first time, purged the lines, saw a small amount of nitrous purge, didnt think much of it. We lined up at about 70, I heard him downshift, I did the same and took off, I pulled about a car length, we caught up to traffic and was little disappointed at only pulling a small amount
-Second run: Dude looked mad that he lost, he kept trying to line up again, so I gave him another shot, this time I made sure to purge right before we ran and to get a nice plume of nitrous on the purge, I let him get the jump, he was about a car length ahead, this time I reeled him in HARD, and every shift was a kick in the pants, from 65-120, at the end I was probably 2 bus lengths ahead. He probably let off before I did, but was good reassurance. More like it
Immediately following that (literally slowing down), I crest a small hill and find my buddy in his stage 2 06 wrx going back home from Texas as well. We ran 3 times, twice on the bottle and once with no bottle for comparisons. The whole time were texting in between runs
Hes got intake, catless downpipe, exhaust and an Accessport running the stage 2 tune. Supposed to be putting down ~280-300 to the wheels i believe?
-First run: 60mph+ I hadn't purged from last race, so nitrous didnt kick in until about 1k rpms after we started, so he had a small jump but I immediately pulled him in and walked away pretty well, he did a lot better than the 350 (which was behind us watching lol) Result was me ahead by about 3 lengths
-Second run: 60mph+ I purged a good bit right before again, and he was telling me he wanted one more chance, This time I watched his hood raise up indicating him taking off and I nailed it, I was at 6200rpms in 4th gear, and he said he was amazed at how fast I sling shot in front of him. Again every shift the nitrous torque just kicked me in the pants, before I knew it, I looked down and was doing 130 which is WAY too fast for my tastes By this point I was way out in front.
-Third run: For kicks I asked him to go from 60 again except with me not on the bottle. He agreed and we took off, we were basically dead even except every time I shifted, he would pull a little, and then he started to barely pull from about 110-115ish when we shut down. I blame the 4.77s for that loss Was all in good fun, and I was really interested in seeing the difference between spraying and not spraying had against a constant variable (another car)
Relevant picture:
My buddies wrx I raced, my s2k and my other friends 08 350z (not the same engine as the one I raced) from back in the day.
Ran my roommates 2006 GTI tonight, hes got intake, downpipe, test pipe, gutted out exhaust a long with about 200 lbs weight reduction.
We ran from about a 10 roll a few times, each time I was ahead by a nose (not spraying.) When I sprayed from about a 30 roll (5k rpms or so in 2nd) I pulled about the same as I did on the wrx, so about 4 cars or so. The torque with the spray is so nasty though
After talking with Bluemetals2k for a little, my AFRs are a little rich, I was contemplating dropping to a slightly smaller fuel jet to get the AFRs back in the 11s (in the low 10s right now on spray) which should yield some extra power. He says im definitely not getting the full 75 shot with those AFRs. So hopefully I can get it figured out and be spraying a little more potent soon

Ya, most definitely. I'd assume the gap would be even farther from a slower roll considering the gearing would go from disadvantage to advantage, plus the light weight would count for more at the slower speeds

Those wrx mods are good for 240-250 whp max, but good kills nonetheless.
op - nice kill especially on that gawd awful looking 370
Your right, I did a little digging and it looks like 230 is good for a base stage 2 wrx of that year. I must have misremembered him talking about his hp as whp when he was talking about crank
