Almost spanked by Chevy LUV truck...
 

Not kidding, was beside this pos light blue chevy luv truck... the early attempt by chevy to compete with Toyota/Datsun, etc...

I was in the middle lane (of three), the LUV was beside me in the left lane. This lane would merge with mine real quickly so as a matter of course I always make sure I am ahead of the left most car at this intersection(4 way stop). Our turn comes up, I do an easy launch... normally more than fast enough to beat the avg luv truck... well this thing stays even, so I jump on it. Well he chirps 2nd as I hit 6k... which causes me to look over and actually pay attention... then I notice the decidedly V8 like exhaust note! Well I chirped 2nd and stayed ahead of him, but I suspect he could have gone much faster... he failed to realize just how fast I could be and ran out of lane!! After he merged into my lane behind me... I slowed and waved to his passenger, I asked him what he had... 350 CI Chevy V8 with a built autotrans... was quite the sleeper! I told him how cool it was, and he asked wtf was I driving ... told him just your avg 2L 4 cyl. that redlined at 9k and made 240 NA horses... he said Cool!
