Just because someone posted it on the internet does't make it true. Sure...anything can happen on the streets but a 400hp V8 with about the same torque doesn't require a good driver to be driven fast whereas one mishap in driving a car like the S2000 and it's game over. I pulled sub 14 second quarters in my AP1 before it was boosted but almost everything had to be flawless and a sub 14 second quarter in a 6.0 GTO can be done while eating a burger and fries.

I'm sorry but was anyone besides the OP physically there and watched this happen? Jeez....give it a break guys. Back when I was in high school I beat Maximas (v6) and so many other cars in my Accord (4cyl). Sometimes it was the driver, sometimes it was the car's condition, and sometimes it was just luck. Anything can happen on the streets and OP was just sharing his story.
Just because someone posted a story doesn't make it false either. To back this up, I will share my first few runs in the first AP2 I owned. Not my proudest moment but I lost to a Honda Fit. I had just learned how to drive a stick and the sucker got me as I missed 2nd gear and went into 4th. My second run that same evening was against a modded Civic Si with a passenger. That time I missed 3rd gear and went into 5th. In these cases it was driver error. So somewhere on some forum back in 2012, a Fit and a Civic owner probably posted about a kill running an s2000 and that was me. Sounds like OP is a good driver and shifted optimally and that allowed him to pull on the other car. Anything can happen.
