Buddy of mine keeps trying to bust my balls on the s2k vs wrx(non-sti). So the ordeal is, who would win from a dig? A wed night drag strip is coming up in a few weeks so just want to see who is the better driver w/ car? I told him i'm better off from a roll at about 10mph, and he said no. I tell him its not the right class NA vs FI..blah blah...He sounds very confident and now has me thinking?

Im pretty much stock just cai. He has the usual DP,UP, Exhaust, and other minor bolt ons.

Make sense?

So what do you folks think?

 

your in the wrong section. and he'll beat you off the line you should pull top end the have tiny turbo's quick spool nice low end then die off quick

 

of course hes confident. Hes purposesly trying to set himself up for an easy win. AWD + launch = awesome 60ft time. S2000 = difficult to launch.

Of course if he bogs his launch he'll be toast. Its not exactly cake to launch the WRX @ the track. He's just at as much of a risk of blowing his tranny as you are your diff. So both of you will have a trick getting it out of the hole with a perfect launch but he'll have the advantage.

Im gonna throw this out there...a wrx is in no way shape or form a sports car and I have killed 2 2004's one being my friends station wagon and the other a stock 04' sedan. I wouldn't be so confident against an 05+(I still think it'd be close) but prior to that they were designed for snow storms and unpaved driveways.

 

this guy most likely has a tune as well which would make it a really good race with a good s2000 driver down the 1/4.

if he beats you at the strip just run him on the highway on the way home (when it's empty of course) so you can get even with him

his tranny is made of glass so hopefully he won't pull off too crazy of a launch.

 

i raced a wrx with bolt ons from a 45mph roll and ran dead even with him... i think that he would beat you off the line

 

WRX will take you from a dig.. from a roll you'll have a chance.

Second, thanks for all the replys. I know I can beat him on a roll but as for a digg well see.

 

Anything is possible Rey. I've put 1/2 a length on STI's before on the launch, so only one way to find out.
