Default How will an S2000 do vs a STi?

I have an 01 S2000 bone stock, he has an 04 STi bone stock (except he took out the back seats), and he wants to run me this friday. He said when he was recording the race of me vs the 350z, he was having trouble keeping up, and all he had was a system and a passenger who weighed in at around 130lbs. He wants to go from a 35 and 60 roll (i'll convince him to make it a 70 roll).

What do you think the outcome will be? I'll most likely have results + a vid on friday night =]

i pulled a 1-1 1/2 cars on an evo VIII from around 65-100

i'm stock he` was modded w/ ecu tuned, turbo-back exhaust and intake but he was running 16psi instead of 19, so basically he was at stock power.

The sti should not have had any problems keeping up. The numbers prove its a faster car. 0-60 in under 5 seconds, quarter mile in low 13's. Probably a full second quicker than the S in both categories. May be different from a roll like you described, but I doubt it. Don't get me wrong, I hope you win, I love the S, but the sti is just a faster, more powerful car. Post the vid, I'd love to see it. Good luck. P.s. Maybe he is just a shitty driver, I don't know.....

That's what I was thinking also. I'd expect a turbocharged car with 55 extra hp to kick my ass, but then again I always hear that AWD cars aren't too great off a roll. As for the Z, s2ki.com is being gay and I can't find the thread, it ended up being 5 or so pages o_O

Here's the link to the vid though

And yes I won because he wasn't too great of a driver at the time

also, he DID say that he shifts 500rpm before redline, but then again, if you have that kinda power, something like that shouldn't really affect it all that much.

higher speed you start from the better chance you have. If you do a 20 or 30 roll he will murder you. 50-60-70, and you should be able to pull slowly if you don't f up

STi only runs 0-60 in 5 and low 13s because of the AWD launch. From a roll, the launch is taken out of the equation and the race will be CLOSE.

If he shifts 500 before redline, you should take him. It would be close if you both shifted at redline, but if hes going 500rpm early it might throw him out of his powerband so you may be able to pull ahead. Good luck and get a video
