Lots off missinformation everywhere s2k.
This my 2nd week owning the car and I have been reading everywhere, here, other forums - just general comments that s2k "has enough torque to push water downhill" , "less torque then a prius", on and on and on.
Well today it rained a little, long story short I took a turn at normal speed 35mph 4th gear and hit it as I was in the middle of the turn, (mind you rpm's were nowhere near vtec) I fishtailed like no tomorrow, luckily I recovered it and didn't look like a complete tool.
Scared me silly.
No my tires are not worn, (90% tread on stock bridgestone re05's)
No i was not in vtec or anywhere close to vtech (like 2-3k rpm)
I thought this car was tame and forgiving, but apparently not. What have I got myself into?

It is tame but the s2000's torque curve is downlow where we were. it peaks right before vtec. that way when you are on a track you can shift in corners without the torque spiking yet still being able to have power.

You've gotten yourself into a rear wheel drive car that maximizes grip in turns.
Don't accelerate in the middle of a turn, especially in the rain. Be smooth! It's not an issue of torque, it's an issue of being a good driver and understanding how the car works.

RWD. 'Nuff said. If you want to play in the rain, do it at low speeds and away from traffic and trees, cliffs, etc.
If you've never driven a RWD car before, you really have no business driving an S2000 hard in the rain on public roads. What precisely did you think would happen when you "hit it" halfway around a curve on a wet road?
And the S2000's torque curve doesn't peak at VTEC. It peaks just after, at ~6500 rpms. But that's not really relevant. What's relevant is what happens when you upset a RWD car by mashing the gas halfway around a corner. Especailly in the rain.

Thanks for the feedback, will be doing a lot of reading up - and definitely take it easy in the rain.
Another noob remark (my ap1 friend and I thought that the defroster button was the traction control for the longest time haha)
Generally speaking if the rear starts oversteering (sliding out) in a turn, the best thing is to modulate the throttle and receive enough traction to leave the fishtail, is that logical?

Letting off semi-abruptly midturn, I found, is much worse than jabbing the gas pedal. just my experience.
Makes me really want a racelogic unit.....
