You cannot compare a corvette to a mcclaren, to do so would be foolish. These things are practically race cars for the road, they do not skimp on any part of it, and make nothing but top of the range supercars.
i get that there are big hp s2's out there that can keep/ beat some big powerful cars, some that are referred to as super cars.
But REAL supercars, ie the mcclaren, the aventador etc you stand no chance. And if you manage to get it to a stage where it might 'hang' nearby, youd be crazy to think you could beat it, every straight that thing would out accelerate you, every time it brakes, it would out brake you, and every corner it would also out handle you. Its not all down to the power. It would also do all this without breaking, or overheating.
Your s2 would basically have to be setup as a drag racer to come close, which is completely pointless, as thats not what it was ever designed to be, or even good at.

Forget a McLaren. The new Z06 loses to a bone stock $85k Dodge Viper - and that's when both cars are fresh. After the Z06 gets some heat in the motor, it loses even worse. You can run the Viper hard all day long with little to no performance degradation. The Z06 is throttling itself back after just a few hard runs.

Im guessing it's a smaller turbo with a lower CFM.
Dang...I read this story and was all excited...next time get video! Nice death + kill. That poor sap with the Speedster either really loves Porsches that much or has more money than sense.

Ok.
There's a 2900 lbs S2000 with 407 WHP
There's a 3000 lbs Mclaren with 508 WHP (estimated using 619 HP with 18% drivetrain loss)
In addition, Mclaren has better aerodynamics, more rubber, and better traction control.
I love the S2000, but it does have its limits.
How about a Honda-powered Mclaren?!?!?! Oh wait...that's a race car.
