Today we hit about 70 degrees here in Topeka and with that in mind, we had close to 40 bikes out goofing off. We made a "Dover Run" and passed tons of car moving pretty quick. I was following a modded Busa and was able to keep up due to the heavy corners and we soon came behind an RX7 with a BIG ass wing. We giggled and proceeded to try to pass it...the RX7 got on it and I must say it really surprised me. We both passed it when we hit a little of a straight away but once we got to the heavy cornering, that SOB was stuck to our asses. We shook it off on a 2 mile straight away but once we got to the corners, that son of a gun was gaining on us....AWESOME!!!!
We got to Dover and talked to the guy for a while. He claimed he ran consistend low to mid 11's. I had never seen the guy before but have heard of his car during a high-performance school at Heartland park. (btw, he was running Kumho Victoracers all around).
We went to the bridge and made some passes. Needless to say, racing on the 1/2 stretch was no challenge....the RX7 would stay pretty far behind but once he raced some of the stock 600 bikes,....it was pretty much anyones games. The poor Rex got stranded since he ran out of gas . We were pals and got him some more so he could head home......The car was
My R2....care to explain the difference between a street port and the "other" type of port on an RX7?? t-88 is what he had.

No that was not me.. I have a very stock appearing VR R2. The only thing that looks outta place is the large pipe out of the back. My car is headed for the shop VERY soon to receive some reliability mods to the engine so I can run higher boost. I will probably get a street port too.
Okay to port is to enlarge the ports of the engine, the exhaust and intake. Bigger ports mean more fuel air mixture can be introduced to the engine and removed from the engine for more performance (read: HP).
I was gonna go through the different port jobs but this link does it WAY better than I ever could
Here is a link that explains a lot of different port jobs.
port
The guy had a T88, WHOA That turbo is good for about 650+++ rwhp in the RX-7 (assuming it is tuned right). I have a measly TO4e (very small - but better response). I would think he should beat the 600 bikes pretty easily especially from a roll. I have raced a few small displacement bikes and and I have lost a few and won a few (all from a roll). Wonder if he is tuned right, or if he knows how to drive.
Good runs and great kill!!

Well, my wife axed that plan. She says she will not feel comfortable with me driving a car with 600+ rwhp.
I guess I should have asked her before I ask you guys.....
In any case, I am hopefully going to pick up 75 to 100 more rwhp from the port and the ability to put more boost through the engine. So I am hopefully looking at well over 400...but I am not sure. I will hopefully have the car back up in the spring or sooner
I guess I should be happy that she WANTS FI for the S2000.
