There is a very poor aftermarket for the Celica. Here's link to 1/4 mile times for GT-S's http://newcelica.org/other/tracktimes/page...?sort=celicagts . Stock the Celica is a mid 6 second 0-60 car.

nice job

Not every celica are quick, it takes a good driver to drive it fast. But with a good driver with i/h/e, it is capable of doing low 14s high 13s. However a majority of celicas out there are only running mid to high 14s with i/e due to the fact that they can't land on the 2nd cam. From that link, there are a couple of them running high 13s with just intake, exhaust, drag radial, and some weight reduction.

There is one guy in particular that I think would give the S2k a run for their money is a guy that goes by the name crazycelicagts or micronrice. He puts out low 190 to the wheel which is about where stock S2k are putting out. He ran a 14.0 with i/e/h but now he has a computer, he is well into the 13s from what other people are saying. With the power to weigh ratio, it beats the S2k by numbers. The celica are nice little cars but I'm not afraid of them. I know the chances of going against someone like crazycelica is slim so if another celica revs at me, I'll go at it and 95 percent of the time, I'll work it and wave hehe.

I was about to say that it'd take about 190whp at 2650lb to make a Celica run low 14's and then I watched the guy put down 193whp in that video. Pretty close.

That is one fast Celica. Considering they have 180 crank hp, he's gotta have about 230. 50hp at the crank gain with I/E/H, flywheel and fuel controller is pretty impressive for a 1.8L NA motor. I'm thinking he had a strong motor from the start. The VVTi sounds pretty aggressive. Did he raise his redline? Looks like it.

yeah he did raised his redline to 8700 I believe. There is a guy over there that ran a 13.7 with only 173 whp however he did strip the interior a bit and his car weigh in at 2350 or something like that without driver. I wonder what kind of times he would run if he did the same thing as that guy who ran a 13.7. The power to weight ratio would be pretty darn good.

Yeah we used to have an 00 GT-S and it didnt even feel close to as fast as teh S2K feels. I have seen some of the faster ones, but there are very few. Havent raced one in the S2K but we raced one in the EVO and we literally blew his doors off. We could easily manage to put 10 cars on him pretty quickly. Dont know all teh specifics ie...his mods, auto/man etc..but it wasnt impressive.

I will admit though when we had it, it did feel fast and was pretty quick on the freeway, but I dont think its a fair comparison to the S.

yeah you probably raced a auto GTS...I don't understand why toyota did that, they should just make manual transmission for the GTS and leave auto for like GT and what not. Oh well. I like the fact that all S are manual so there is no real guessing. I raced an evo on the freeway and I have beaten it of coarse they are stock or close to stock, haha. Once modded, its all over. Anyways...I read that thread again and saw that the guy ran a 13.8 on the gtech the other night and he has ran a 13.6 on it before, thats insane. I got one of those gtech pro also on my S and only managed to get a 14.0-14.1 time and I have intake and exhaust. I think the gtech pro are pretty accurate because I went to the track and got a 14.0 there also. Oh well. I need to get the mugen ecu.

LOL, just for the record we ran 13.6 on the g-tech in the EVO about 5 times or so all 13.6-13.7, very consistent...

*edit* Forgot to mention, that was bone stock too

BULL! A Celica cannot, I repeat, cannot run high 13's (or even low 14's) with just i/h/e and nothing else. I'd give you everything I own for free if you can do this. Stock GTS is a mid-15 car, no more, no less. It could be high 14's if it runs down hill, but otherwise, mid 15's.
