Truck scales probably aren't the most accurate to measure a car on, but that's probably not too far off.

I own an s and also owned a si 2013. the si is a quick little car and I believe would give an s a good run for its money. but it seems to me everyone has forgotten the drivers in this equasion. the cars are close so it would depend on the drivers skills and abilities. besides the fella was just telling us about the encounter. that is what this thread is about.....right?

even the fastest stock SI hits 0-60 in 6.5 seconds and 1/4 miles in 15 flat.

didnt realize there were so many civic fanboys here. there is absolutely zero contest for a s2000 vs a civic si stock to stock. Yes the civics doors will be blown off.

I am currently on my 2nd S2k and have owned a couple civics, driven a few new gen Sis, driven NSXs, and owned many additional Hondas. Additionally, I have been behind the wheel of countless other high end sports cars. The S2k is by far my favorite car I have driven/owned. I am certainly not a "Civic fanboy", maybe a "Honda fanboy", but that is about it.

What I am is a realist, all things equal a S2k will not give an SI a head start and then "blow its doors off" period. The only reason I responded was that you indirectly called me out, but I am not even going to entertain your argument any further, you are plain wrong.

we are talking about a 14 second car vs a 15 second car. like C63AMG said, thats roughly a 140 feet difference. which comes out to basically 10 car lengths(s2000). this is 0 to 100mph though. OP said he maxed out 2nd gear which would be around 70mph, so winning by 3-4 car lengths at that speed is definitely plausible, even if the Civic had a tiny head start.

would a Civic Si beat a 350z? a G35? absolutely not. those cars have more or less the same straight line performance as the s2000. So how in the world would an Si be competitive with an s2000 then?

sorry but assuming both cars are stock and both drivers are decent, the Civic Si absolutely doesnt stand a chance against any of the cars listed above. at the end of the day its a 200bhp FWD econobox. A nice one though. but not a sports car nor was it meant to compete with them.
