His statement tells me- if I work on my R/T, I will go faster. Alot of people have the misconception of " lower r/t = faster et."

I figured he was trolling me, or just a noob lol

Thanks I try lol.

just a lil background info on me so people can see where I come from-

I have a low 13 sec n/a Saturn Sc2 1.9 dohc. It had a stock bottom end. I swapped out the stock exhaust cam for another stock intake cam (a little more lift and duration) and had the head decked about .035". No porting or polishing was done. 1850# with me in it. Best from 2 years ago, 13.22@102mph 1.93 60'. I also helped a friend of mine get the Ls1 gto bolt on record (11.71@116mph). My boys, southjerseyls1mafia, on youtube have those videos on their channel. I'm planning on hitting 12s with the sc2 this fall, mid 12's with my ITB setup and then I might try for 11's n/a with my built motor/ITBs.

I've held the C5 Ls1 Corvette bolt on record for 6+ years now, with a best of 10.75 @ 124.56 mph from 11/2012 (thats on my youtube channel, 98tadriver)

And a bunch of other stuff that ran fast for what little bit was done with them. Not bragging by any means. Just trying to show people that it's not my first rodeo lol.

My goal for the S2k this season is to run 12.75 without opening the motor or the addition of f/i or power adder.

Thanks for the compliment.

That's correct. Bolt ons only. There are no internal engine modifications, no power adders or forced induction.
I want to see how much an electric water pump can help with my ET/mph too. I bought a Davies Craig ewp150 for my Saturn Sc2 drag car, and it works well. Just a matter of removing the stock impeller, unbolting some stuff and running different hoses. Maybe run a lower temp thermostat as well. Coolant temps are normally around 195-205 degrees Fahrenheit at the track.

Weight reduction does wonders... what did you do to cut the ~300lbs?

Seeing that the curbweight is 2,810 lb and my car without me in it weighed 2,580 that night, would make for a difference of 230lb or .23 second. Gasoline is approx 6.3 lb/gal. A full tank is 13.2 gal, I was at 1/4 (3.3gal). Thats about 63lb less in fuel. The remaining weight savings came from a lighter exhaust (the header alone was 12lb lighter, and my exhaust system after the header weighs right around 20-25lb total. I read that a oem catback is 50lb plus the 12lb for the cat (62 lb total) so we're looking at a total savings of 49-54 lb for my complete exhaust.

Less fuel+ lighter exhaust= 112-117lb

Other items-
Air pump (under hood) removed
Pass seat pulled that night which is 31 lb iirc. Trunk basically empty, spare/jack gone, Rear bumper support gone, removed the basic ac stuff, like compressor, dryer and condensor since its not hot out anymore. Roll hoop covers are gone too. They dont weigh much but i like the look of the bare hoops.

Nothing was cut out of the car. Anything removed can be put back.

i have more weight reduction plans before the end of the sesaon. Maybe I'll get it under 2700lb with me (190) in it.

So thats just basic stuff. Then i don't understand how you are trapping 107mph. Did you forget the 50 shot of nitrous? lol... I have most of that weight savings too besides removing the a/c, seat and roll hoop covers. I have an ap2 that makes 240whp with very similar mods as yours and ran a 13.6 at 101 with a 2.0 60'... something doesn't add up... if i cut the 60' by .1 sec and shed another 200lbs(.2 sec) i would be around 13.2-13.3 and probably only 103mph... I don't get how you can rip that 60' time and still trap 107mph... crazy lol.... ahhh wait but i did have 4.57 gears at the time so i was shifting into 5th... your ap1 probably hit 107 in 4th... i've wanted to go back since i recently switched back to oem gear ratio... I tried just bouncing it off the limiter in 4th and only ran a 13.9 at 97mph lol

yea, he's probably the fastest n/a s2000 stock form guy i know. and its the first time ive seen someone launch the car at redline. But regardless of what rpm he launches at, its hard to believe thats the reason for his fast time. even the best motoring guys tsuchiya and company would run high 13s/low 14s with a stock s2000. insanity.

Launching at redline will definitely yield better mph since the car wont be bogging as bad. Also, Atco is something like 33' above sea level if I recall correctly. That makes for some fast times as well. I'm not a big fan of dyno #'s, since the readings can vary wildly from one place to another; But, I'll put it on the rollers sometime when I get a chance, so you guys can have some sort of readout to look at

thanks! I took advantage of this awesome Air Tonight and smash my previous best of 13.0 with a 12.88 @ 108mph on a 1.87 60'. Once I get the video from my friend, I will start a new thread tomorrow 8)
