I agree with your point! It's just funny to sit around and watch these STI owners get there panties all in a bunch over the S2000...as if it not possible to be side by side with them, or even be beaten by one...Apples to dick..You have a 2.5L motor with a turbo making your power for you, and AWD to give you braging rights in the 1/4 mile...I really don't see the need to cry apples to oranges bs because a 2 litre motor adds a snail and can all of a sudden....put it on you. Cry me a river

 

 

I never consider STI's stock, i dont even consider the WRX stock, to me the impreza is stock. the manufacturer modded them so whats the difference in us doing it? How's FI to FI apples to oranges???? i would say N/A to FI is. I dont dislike the EVOs and STI's i just kills me when i run into one thats all cocky and looks down on S2k's. I love cars and always will, if some one beats me, then good job.

Your s2k stock DOES NOT keep up with a stock STI. I am not a fan boy for any car and I speak from experience. I did a high gear run with an s2k (dont know if it was stock, but had stock exhaust) in my sti(bone stock at the time). In my car was 4 guys = 170lbs+ 170lbs+ 180lbs + 195lbs, you do the math I had a full house. The s2k had two smaller asian guys. We were matched at 80mph and he downshifted first and got the jump, i dropped it to 4th and by the end of the run I had about 4 cars on him. You can just imagine how it would have been if I cut out the fat that was in my car. Again this is the freeway, anything is possible...mis-shifts, bad drivers but i doubt that was the case because from the time i dropped into fourth i was pullin him consistently. No bs...just the facts

 

You won, he lost. I'm not sure it's scientific to say a stock STi is faster than a stock S2000 though... You hit 4th, did he downshift to 5th or to 4th or 3rd?

For argument sake...
A stock S can do 1/4 in what.. 13.8 with a 2.2 60ft time?
What does a stock STi run in? 13.2, 13.3 with a 1.8 60ft time?

Take away the AWD advantage and it's actually a pretty close race... No?

 

The hell if I know...I was paying attention to my own gears. Science is only of little relevance when it comes to comparing these two cars. Different engine placements, displacements, gears, weights,method of power transferred to each wheel. Power to weight ratio isnt the only solid fact to compare any two cars anymore. It's not the simple mustang vs. camero shootouts like in the past.

 

When has a stock s2k hit 13.8??? and what trap speed? it must have been a factory freak + amazing driver...ya they do exist but we'll never personally experience that. And we are talkin about highway rolls here not quarter mile digs, therefore the s2k has full traction and the sti is suffering from the awd. Its gonna take more than basic bolt-ons to take out a stock sti even on the freeway. Gears or FI will do it.

 

how many posts did you make today, a million anti s2000 posts on an s2000 website, wow. Your obviously just looking to argue the size of your balls. How about this for a set of nuts, Ive got a half million dollar house at the age of 20, oh wait nobody cares, you have a 34,000 dollar car! WOW, I bought a brand new STI when I was 18 years old, BIG deal (not really).

The point Im trying to instill in you is appreciation, were all car nuts here and you need to set your balls down and relax.

Your personal life has nothing to do with the topic of this thread...so you should have left it out. We're talkin about S2k's and Sti's lets not get off topic here. The only thing you have stated right is we are all car nuts. My nuts are in their place while youre the one getting a lil testie. We are all chilled man. The S2k is my potential next car.
