Really? An R1 does a 1/4 mile in sub 10s and 145mph!!

ie the same time as a Veyron, a laferrari and a P1. I would be very surprised if even that 600bhp S2000 in the fs would keep up, especially given the traction limitations

I did a rolling test against a 911 turbo on a 600rr and destroyed it, not anywhere near close
Ah! I must have imagined it then.
Errrrrr I hope your on the windup Notts, glens car is a pure weapon.

I know zip about Pitts' car but

An R1 weighs 200kg and has 200bhp. Lets say the rider weighs 90kg with armour on (high).

Thats 690bhp/ton

Lets say an S weighs 1200kg. To get that figure it needs 828bhp. And putting that power down is going to be an issue.

All i said was i'd be surprised

This might help

I'm in a lucky position where I've got an S2k and a Z4M coupe. Both very different cars. TBH I get more fun from the S2000. But the E46 engine is in another league. The coupe is super stiff(stiffest in class) and drives like a sharp precision tool but it doesn't suit some of our B roads or my commute. I used to have an E46 M3 before that and that's what made me buy the Z4M. I've had it since it was 3 months old and have done several hoons with it.

Both very good cars. However I'd also like to add a Z3M coupe, that would be my dream garage..

Id read his post again; he beat it the first time because the bike had a wheel in the air i.e. not full throttle. The second he lost but was catching, maybe due to a massive torque difference

I raced my mate on his r6 last year back then I was on stock engine and only a bar of boost. We did a rolling start from 70ish I kept it in 6th and I pulled away from him till he had no more to give. There is a thing called torque and that adds another dimension in to the power to weigh ratio. Mr Pitts has a sequential gearbox with flat shift and his turbo is massive. Bikes are quick too 100mph but after that drag kills them as they purely don't have the power to push through it.

Stupid funny how the Op's post got turned into a streetbike comparo lol. If anyone has a stock E46 M3, i'm down to be the guinea pig...

I was at the rear bumper of an E46 m3 all the way into 4th when i was tuned in 2008. I now have 20 rwhp more with removed softop and I'd like to compare to the 2008 race.
This was the same outcome against an older Z4M (same motor i believe)and older GTO(also close in accel). Call bs all you like, but come bring a stock E46 and ill show s2ki .

Check out my graph in the NA dyno section..recently retuned and the curve is pretty beefy compared to any others in that post with less done.

Let's see if I can straighten things out here....200 hp out of an R1? Really? That's more than my Busa. From a standing start traction would be an issue but from 60 onwards not so much.If I hadn't backed off I'm pretty sure he wouldn't have caught me in the space left, if at all.

My car was built to be fast, but it's probably a faster drag racer than a road car.The engine is Fernando s race engine rebuilt to the same spec, so 1000hp, the turbo is supposed to be around 850 hp...These are American wheel hp figures so read into it what you like. Its geared for 200 mph and has a sequential gearbox with geartronics paddle shift, so full power gearshifts which are a lot quicker than the H gate box.

You find it difficult to believe because you don't want to believe. If I had to put money on my Busa being faster than my car I would have to decline.

Oh nearly forgot, the engine with a H gate box in Fernando s car was doing 8 second 1/4 mile times...Please remind me again what times the R1 does it in.
