So we decided to do some driving tonight. We're downtown, where people go to "cruise" and some go to find people to race. Well, I see this Z28 (97 or newer) with 20's on it, which I have half-assed raced before. We get next to each other and he asks if I want to go race somewhere else, as downtown is not the place to race. I say, sure, why not. Meanwhile, the Firebird is behind us. I noticed it doesn't have ram air ( I think), so I thought it was a TA, or just a Firebird. On our way out, I notice that's it's a Firehawk (97 or newer). We get to the place we're going to race (business area, oh, it's about 11 p.m.). I line up with the Z28 first. His friend (in an SI) is at the end of the street. When his lights go out, we both go. I got a better launch, and a jump on him. I look in my mirror, and he's going sideways a bit. Finally he grips. By this time, it's too late. I'm 3 to 4 cars ahead of him, and he never really gained on me. I shut down around 100 mph.
Now the Firehawk. I wasn't quite sure what to expect. He has 3 passengers. I noticed he has exhaust, too. We line up, the lights go off. My launch was not good, not terrible, though. No matter, he spanked me off the line. I think the weight in the back helped. Anyway, I never caught him, but around 60, it almost evened out, but he was still pulling on me a bit. The road was dirty, and I already had enough rocks hit my car, so I shut down around 80. I didn't get to talk to either of the guys, as there was a minivan behind me and the Firehawk when we started, so I left thinking they were probably calling the po po. My friend tells me the Z28 has some engine work. They both work at an auto parts store in town, so they may have some hidden upgrades. then again, who knows.

If it was an LT! then good kill, but if it was an LS1, even on 20's it should have beat you, but like you said he blew the launch, good kill, and a modded Firehawk should run high to mid 12's? I don't know what it would run with the added wieght, but I would imagine it should have pulled hard, anyway, good kill and nice death.

I've seen a few on 20" wheels. I don't know if modifications were required or not tho-
