Smoked a Type-R last night

What the hell, I might as well post about it...
12:00am deserted stoplight downtown Santa Cruz, a local kid (who I have seen a lot at the local tuning shop) pulls up and revs his engine at me. I know his type-r is modded, still NA, but AEM Intake and some Exhaust I believe
I didn't launch, he did. I just reved to 3k let the clutch slip and took off.
He held close (slowly loosing ground) ~3/4 of the way thru first, but by the end of second I was over 2 cars lengths ahead of him so I shut down.
That was it, next light I went left he went straight. I waved hello to him, he didn't look too happy.
