In stock form I would think you should be faster and win if you guys line up. However, if he has a chip, you will lose hands down as long as your friend can drive. I have a 2001 S4 with a Stage III Kit (Custom Software 1.1 Bar, Supersprint Race System Exhaust, and Stratmosphere DV's) which dyno's at 320 HP. I know a guy who used to post here who had a Stock S2000 and we lined up and would go play and it was NO contest and honestly not even a good race.
I can say though if he is stock you should definately line them up as I think you will win.. (Just make sure he does not have software)
Coming from an S4 owner...
Good luck!

S4KID - I said the same exact thing. I know the capabilities of both cars. With chip and exhaust mods, he'll waste the s2000. Me as the buyer, at the time comparing performance the s2000 is faster.

You are correct. I owned a stock 2001 S2000 (my wife's...had to get a Pilot due to two kids), and I currently own a GIAC X Stage 2 2001 S4, making 320hp, and 370lb/ft of torque.
The Modded S4 would *murder* the stock S2K.
Both cars stock? The S4 would win to 60, but after that...the S2K driven correctly would start to SLOWLY, VERY SLOWLY pull away. Total drivers race. Now on a track, the S2K would dominate.
Two totally different cars, though. Should never really be compared head to head. They were both built for very different styles of driving.
I have a couple friends with S4's bone stock. My S2000 with I-spoon/H-toda /E-mugen, cusco clutch and flywheel, I pulled off the line 1/2 car, I have no problem launching and by 100 mph 2 cars. S4's can be scary fast with boost especially on the freeway, but stock for stock the s2000 is faster. Like S4KID said, once he gets the software, LOL, and once he makes a couple exhaust mods, the S4 will pound it's ass.
with cars it's always going to be a drivers race..
the driver is always one of the top factors, dependent variable(i think).
stock for stock...the #'s say the s2000 should win right?
however, a chipped, exhaust, and downpiped s4 should win....just by going by the #'s.
however they are two different cars as people have stated.
also the bi-turbo was available 2000,01, and 02....
so just depending on the variables you might have a different outcome....you have to be more specific in you test.
also maybe the guy just didn't want to race you and was being modest so you'd leave him alone?

hahahah but you didn't finish quoting the rest of my thread.
also i'm not 100% sure about the #'s.....i'm just going by what that guy has posted.
i do believe that the stock s4 will run low 14's...but i thought thats what the s2000 ran also (stock).
i do'nt even have a s2000, so you are getting an unbiased opinion. however i do know a person with a s4 and a s2000. both are great cars, but different respectively.
also note that most s4 owners don't leave the car stock....the chip is a great uupgrade for that car
