What do you do when you get a loaner car?
2 days ago my girlfriend took her bmw x5 to the dealership to get some maintenance done. The loaner vehicle she picked? A 2013 135i automatic convertible. Just FYI, this is the single turbo model, not the twin turbo.
So today, I was cruising around town doing errands with the loaner. In the rearview mirror, I see a mustang (early 4th gen bodystyle) weaving in and out of traffic, that proceeds to pace me once he gets next to me. I think nothing of it, so he goes full blast. However, I catch up to him at a red light. Now right before I even hit the stoplight, I'm already thinking "let's see what this little bimmer can do".
Before the light turns green, I put the car in "sport" mode as well as manual mode. As the light turns green, I punch it a little, leaving the mustang behind, but I slow down only after going roughly 40mph. Now the mustang knows its on. He then proceeds to catch up, as I'm driving a meager 35mph. He lines up with me, and does the 3 honks. He gets the early jump, but I reel him in by the time 60mph rolls by. By the time I hit the next stoplight, he finally catches up. I look over with a huge grin, but he's looking the other way acting like nothing happened.
You know how "they" say boost is addicting? Well, yeah, it is...
