What the hell?
I was driving home and the highway was pretty sparse and clear. I felt like some spirited driving to zig zag around the slow cars. BTW I drive a 2004 S2k, and I love it. Anyway I come up to a dark blue Vw Corrado, lowered, some wheels, I saw a little red g60 badge on it. I think to myself "what a joke, but maybe he can pace me". So I downshift and roll past him. Next thing that happened that blew my mind was the Corrado's front end was glued to my rear bumper. I hit 130mph and all of a sudden he gets to the left of me (I hear a loud HKS like blow off sound)and just cruises past me at least 10mph faster and as a insult taps his brakes after getting 3-4 cars in front. I motion him to get off at the next exit at the Citgo gas station. Turns out he's a real humble guy and his car was no G60 at all. It was a 2035cc forged piston crossflow 8v turbo, looked like a t3/to4, and a homemade short intake manifold. He says he had it set at 14psi. I was totally fooled, I thought it was a stock G60. He said it was his first race with the car. It was all in fun though and I wanted to share my story.
Nice post.. Most G-60 Corrados have usually been modded with Stage II (200HP Software & Pulley) or Stage III (215HP Stage II with Camshaft) upgrades if they have the orginal motors. Most of them are pretty tired though and have not been properly maintained... However, there are a handful of cars like you ran into with serious action..
The Corrado G-60 was really a cool car for it's time...

PUT DOWN THE PIPE
no freakin g60 corrado made more than 190 hp, any g60 would wish to make 170 whp and that is on a stage 4 upgrade, 268/60 cam, chip, ported charger, 3.5 fpr and 62 mm pulley, netting about 18 psi of boost.. just letting u know and as for the cross flow turbo let me show u something.

I did not state Wheel HP did I.. I was talking at the Flywheel at peak. Going from the flywheel through the drivetrain there is a loss which would probably equate to 160-175WHP. Tempature of the Dyno bay would also come into play. Maybe my numbers aren't exact but they are not that far off either.
