Default X5 fails the Joey Chitwood 2 wheel stunt driving test

Yesterday afternoon I decided to leave the office a bit early and head home. I'm cruising along at 75 (10 over) down I-287 and not wanting to push it since there wasn't much traffic to hide in. Along comes this black X5 blowing by me at about 90, so I decide what the hell, if he's going to fish out the cops for me I'll drop in behind about 10 car lengths back. Since no one knows how to drive on the highway in NJ, we keep running up the back of idiots in the high speed lane going 65 even though there is no traffic at all to their right. Every time we do this, I close the gap, the car in front finally pulls to the side, he stomps on it, I drop down to 3rd and take off after him. I never once ride his tail, I just don't let him pull on me and then slowly maintain my distance of about 10 lengths. This goes on for about 20 miles, then it turns out that we are getting off the same exit. This exit is a very sharp 20MPH posted cloverleaf and we are heading into it at about 60. I'm starting to slow down because I have never pushed my S2000 to the limits and I'm thinking this BMW is in big trouble. Sure enough, half way into it I see the rear end get squirrly. He almost does a nice catch with some countersteer, but then the laws of physics once again reapply themselves. His driver side wheels catch an expansion joint and I watch in seeming slow motion as it goes over on it's side. Actually we were probably still doing about 40 so he slid quite a ways. I pull up behind him half expecting him to come out of the thing either really shaken up or pissed at me like it was somehow my fault for making him drive past his limits. Instead this guy opens the passenger window and climbs up and over the door laughing like a maniac, like he just had an E-ticket thrill ride at Disney. Turns out it's not even his X5. His buddy owns a BMW dealership and this is his loaner while his new 7 is in the shop. He calls his friend, a flat bed shows up in about 15 minutes and they haul the thing away. No cops, no muss, no fuss. There are way too many people out there with more money than sense.

Must be nice. He must wreck Beemers on a regular basis. I wonder what his friend said to him after the incident.

And you didn't whack him, just for having the gall to do that to an X5?

You're right though... more money than sense.
