Your Experiences vs WRX (non STI)

Not necessarily.
I drove the STI straight for about 2 weeks after I got it, and I jumped back in the S with H&R coil-overs. Let's just say I MISSED S so much that I had to go attack some favorite local twisties. But I just put a set of JIC FLAT2 on the STI, now it's almost as good as the S, almost..
gotawd=Thanks for the comments, just curious - could you elaborate more on the Gearbox and DCCD - (what exactly is that) on the Sti?
nevert00fast=Your assumption about the straight line is correct - I figured that the STI would smoke the S from a standstill pretty bad, so I specifically made sure to denote (non-STI) Take Care
SHIRI=YOU'RE A LOSER.

Gearbox-STI has a 6 speed vs. the EVO's 5 speed. Also, the STI's shifter has a better feel than the EVO's. The transmission is also said to be better in the STI.
DCCD-Driver Controlled Center Differential. It gives you the option of splitting the power from 50/50 lock to 35% to the front and 65% to the back, or you can leave it on auto and let computer do the work.

Yah, it would be slaughter. Your run in with the STI is different from what I'm assuming changomo is asking about. He's talking about racing in a straight line, from a stop or a roll a stock S will lose to a stock STI pretty bad. Now your run with the STI was over miles of twisty roads, where handling and driver ability is more important than HP.
