bigger question is why not bring it back to 2002. Same top. Why only 2005. Honda's answer is that they must have seen a higher incident rate during those times.

Exactly what I was thinking. I too have the wear on the rear right side of my top. I am getting so paranoid with it ripping that I don't even put my top up and down as much as I would like to. Still, good news to the ones it will help, I just hope they change it to the 02s and up.

AWESOME!!! I just got done patching a hole in my top last weekend, and just 3 months after I bought the car!!!

My car is 09 and VIN# doesn't fall under what's described in TSB (it says 1~96 for '09 and mine's 193? something).
Does this mean they fixed the problem with the cars manufactured after that VIN# or should I still keep worrying about the top getting torned?

Huh. This TSB talks about burrs on a frame hinge - specifically on the right side. This isn't the same issue that many others of us have.

The TSB covers both the holes related to the latches and the holes related to the passenger-side frame. I have the passenger-frame hole, as do many others. I've started the process of taking it to the dealer after getting the TSB (see "Tell Honda" thread), and will report back how things go.

I have 20,000 miles on my 2006 (out of warranty due to time).

Yeah, I was ignoring the latch bit deliberately. :)

I'm doing the same, out of warranty as well. Keep us posted on how everything goes. I'll post my results when I bring the car in on Tuesday.

Just in case, this is where the holes are at for those who don't have the holes yet...

I had a small wear spot on the passenger side and decided to fix it myself it hadn't worn thru but was wearing. I also had the sharp edge on the frame which was the cause. Dremeled the frame smooth and went to and upholstry shop and asked for a scrap piece of covertible top material and added a piece over the worn spot. I used automotive goop it seems to work very well. Yeah I could have taken it to the dealer but I am out of warranty. I wanted it done right.
