'06 s2000 lag problem...insight people?
I just got a 2006 s2000 (back in Istanbul - which comes with the 9k limit and 2.0 engine woo hoo!) anyway, i noticed a difference from my 2003 and wanted to get some insight on it:
Sometimes when i shift from 2nd gear to 3rd or 3rd to 4th (5 out of 20 tried times e.g.) the moment i shift i get this lag as if for half a second the car hits the brakes or slows down, then suddenly the power kicks back in where it should have just as i shifted. This only happens when i shift WOT, at 8500rpm and up.. I was guessing that it could be the drive by wire system, but isnt supposed to be even better response than our old ones? Thought it could be the VSA kickin in but the light doesnt flash on and off during those times.. Anyone can clue me in or had a similar problem/reaction? |
CDV maybe???

06..with a 2.0 engine..9K limit..and has vsa? i think its your vsa..try turning it off..
|
its your CDV(clutch delay valve). takes some of the shock off of the drivetrain...ie;tranny, diff.
|
Sounds like the clutch delay valve. It makes your clutch slip a little to prevent damge to the rear diff. Its standard on all 04+ i believe. Theres a DIY on the site here if you want to remove it.

I was going to say, do the 06 in Europe have DBW? Maybe that is the lag you are also experiencing?
|
hmm...thats odd...i thought all 06+ got the 2.2 ?
|
japan and usdm 06 are both 2.2 uk and austrailia and others remained the 2.0 . 8]
to the OP, sounds like the CDV, clutch delay valve. |
